My name is Calum Ogg, I was born in April 1990, I live in Glasgow, Scotland but I go to a boarding school in Stamford, England. I was first interested in photography because it was something that came naturally to me. When I first got my digital camera I was taking pictures of anything and everything, I slowly developed and gained more of an understanding of the subject. Then when I went on holiday to the North of Scotland I found the landscapes were amazing and I really enjoyed photographing them. I started using techniques such as panoramic photography and found this very useful. So from then on I have been mainly a landscape and panoramic photographer, but still try other areas as well.
In October 2007 I won a photography competition making me the Best Young Photographer in Scotland according to Getty Images. I held my first photography exhibition in Stamford Arts Centre during January 2008, this gave me so much experience and opportunities, I have since been offered work with Practical Photography, and one of my photos will be published in the one of the coming issues of Practical Photography.
After I have finished school I am going to take a gap year to travel and gain more real life experience in the world of photography, and help build up my portfolio. After that I am hoping to go to university in Scotland to study photography, and finally I will try and make it as a Professional Landscape Photographer.
